Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Zamidar (“we”, “us”) provides the Zamidar mobile app and the website zamidar.app. For any privacy question or request, write to support@zamidar.app. This policy is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Google Play User Data policy.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account: your mobile number, used to sign in with a one-time password (OTP); your name; whether you are a new farmer, an experienced farmer, a buyer or an equipment owner; your chosen language.
• Farm details: crops, land size, soil type, water source and the farm plans you create and the tasks you tick off.
• Market: listings you post (produce or equipment, photos, price, quality and specifications), orders, offers, bookings and chat messages.
• RupeeBook: the expense and income entries you write, and any bill photos you attach.
• Messages to us, such as support emails.

Information from your phone, with your permission

• Location: your approximate or precise location, to show local weather, fit your farm plan to your area, and show market listings near you. We store your village or area and the location of your listings, not a continuous location history.
• Camera and photos: only the photos you take or choose, for plant scans, listings and bills.
• Microphone: only while you hold the voice button. Your phone's speech service turns your voice into text; we receive the text, not a recording.
• Notifications: a device token so we can send you alerts about orders, bookings, offers, messages and your daily farm tasks.

Information collected automatically

• Basic technical data needed to run and protect the service, such as app version, device type, error reports, and app-integrity checks that stop fake or automated requests.
• A count of how many AI requests you make each day, so we can keep the service free with fair limits.

The zamidar.app website does not use advertising cookies or trackers.

3. How we use it

• To create your account and keep it secure.
• To make farm plans, plant scan results and voice answers.
• To run the Market: show listings to nearby users, pass orders, bookings and messages between buyers and sellers, and send you notifications.
• To check new listings before they go live, and to block accounts that cheat or abuse other users.
• To answer your support requests and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Who can see your information

• Other Zamidar users can see your listings, including your name, approximate distance and the phone number on the listing, so buyers can contact you. The person you trade with sees your orders, bookings and chat messages with them.
• Your RupeeBook entries, farm plans and plant scans are private to your account.
• The Zamidar team can see listings to review them, and limited account details to handle reports and blocks.
• Service providers that run parts of the app for us, under their own security and privacy terms: Google Firebase (sign-in, database, file storage, notifications and app integrity) and Google's Gemini models through Firebase AI Logic (to write plans, read plant photos and answer questions). Weather forecasts come from Open-Meteo using your approximate location; no account details are sent.
• The law: we may share information if the law requires it, or to protect users from fraud or harm.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, farm plans, plant scans, RupeeBook entries, favourites, notifications and listings within 30 days. Orders, bookings and chats that involve another user may be kept, without your profile, as long as that user needs them, or longer if the law requires it.

6. Your rights and choices

• See and correct your profile in the app at any time.
• Turn off location, camera, microphone or notification permissions in your phone settings. Some features will then not work.
• Turn off market notifications in the app.
• Ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected or deleted, by writing to support@zamidar.app.
• Delete your account and data.

7. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored on Google Cloud. Access rules make sure each user can only read and change what they are allowed to, and app-integrity checks block fake requests. No system is perfectly safe, so please keep your phone and OTP to yourself.

8. Children

Zamidar is meant for adults who farm or trade farm produce. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app if the change is important.

10. Grievance officer

For complaints about how your data is handled, contact our grievance officer at support@zamidar.app. We reply within 30 days.
